Evaluation and Management is the domain candidates most often underestimate. The codes look familiar, which makes it easy to assume the rules are familiar too — and the rules changed substantially when the office and outpatient codes moved to medical decision making or total time, and again when the observation codes were folded into the inpatient set. Most of the marks lost here are lost on the mechanics, not the clinical detail.
This quiz is built around those mechanics. It is deliberately not a miniature mock exam: twenty-five questions cannot tell you whether you will pass, and they involve none of the fatigue that makes the fourth hour of the real exam the hardest part. Use it to find out whether a specific rule has actually landed, then go back to the full mock exams to measure yourself under exam conditions.

Every question carries a worked explanation that says why the wrong options are wrong, not just why the right one is right, and names the source it rests on. A correct answer reached by elimination is worth revisiting — on the real exam the same rule will appear with different distractors, and elimination will not be available.
The sub-topic breakdown on your score card is the useful output. A sub-topic below seventy per cent is a reading assignment, not a reason to retake the quiz immediately — retaking it straight away mostly tests whether you remember these twenty-five items. Read the relevant guideline, leave it a few days, then come back.

Yes, and you should. The CPC exam is open book with an approved CPT Professional edition, so practising with the book in hand builds the look-up speed the exam actually measures.
There is no time limit and nothing is submitted for you. The clock counts up and shows a pace reference of about two minutes per question, so 25 questions is roughly a 50 minute target.
Yes. The 25 questions are shuffled on every attempt, so a retake is not a memory test of the same sequence. Your answers are saved in your own browser for 24 hours, so a refresh or a stray back button does not lose them.
